Garage Giveaway

Jul 23, 2014 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm

Sean and James have delivered a treasure trove of Apple II items to the Corcoran lobby.  Please donate cash to them if you find something you like.

Here’s a note from Sean:

Sometime during this year’s conference, we will make a pile of hardware, software and misc stuff available to all attendees for free*.

Most of the stuff is donated. Some of it we brought in on the cheap because it was too good of a deal to pass up. Other items were rescues — someone was going to throw it away if we didn’t intervene. We want to keep Apple II stuff out of landfills and in the hands of Apple II users!
It’s a big project! We have storage fees, gas, shipping and labor (not to mention cranky significant others) to deal with while in the process of collecting all this stuff. But it’s FUN, and we love helping out our Apple II community.
It’s all free for the taking, we just ask that you consider the following:
1.) Help us unload and bring it all in, so we can sort it all and get it ready for the giveaway. In the past, we’ve had awesome volunteers testing equipment, sorting stuff etc. It’s part of the fun.
2.) During the giveaway, take anything you need/want BUT PLEASE don’t turn around and sell it on eBay or at the vendor fair. This is a community project to help Apple II users.
3.) Please be polite. In the past, the occasional overzealous collector has made it difficult for everyone else to get items they’ve wanted. Share the wealth, don’t be a piggy.
When it’s all done and the dust has settled, anything that hasn’t been claimed will eventually have to be loaded up and taken back. Some help with the loading would be appreciated. Hopefully, attendees will claim everything! An empty truck makes us happy!
* We do accept donations. We LOVE donations. As I mentioned earlier, we do incur some expenses and a donation will help offset some of that. There will be a box on the table, or I can accept a CC via Square. Anything given is appreciated.
