Here's a handy list of things you may want to remember to do to prepare — and to bring along — next time you come to KansasFest.

• PalmPilot/BlackBerry/PocketPC/iPod/Newton/eMate
• Power cords/rechargeable batteries/docking stations
• USB headset (for Skype)
• Digital camera with card reader/USB cable/battery recharger/additional media

Other Electronics

• Adapter AC, three prong 120-volt, AC
• Extension cord
• Power strips/surge suppressors (at least one)
• Three prong/two prong 120-volt AC adapter
• Laser pointer

Phone Stuff

• Cell phone/smartphone
• Cell phone/charging station/calling card
• Note: Even a deactivated cellular phone must by law carry your 911 call. Get an old cell phone and car adapter, put it in the trunk and use it in case of an emergency. (Can only be used to report an accident or call for EMERGENCY help.)
• Phone cable 25- to 50-feet (in case phone jack is on wrong side of the room :)
• Phone jack double outlet if needed for dialup modem
• National ISP numbers (AOL, NetZero, etc.) for Kansas City, MO (area code 816)
• Wired phone to connect to dorm line

Personal Items

• Alarm clock
• Coffee cup, coffee and coffee maker
• Dental floss
• Door sign
• Light sleeping clothing
• Hat, sunblock, sunglasses
• Cash, travelers checks, credit cards
• Munchies/gum/water
• Paper bag for garbage (or Bite the Bag)
• Linens/towels (two flat sheets, a pillowcase and pillow, two bath towels, two wash cloths, and a blanket are provided)
• Toothbrush, toothpaste, bar soap, shampoo, shave, trim, comb
• Shower clogs/footwear
• Tissue (TP & Kleenex)
• "Tie" for the banquet and roast
• Eyeglasses & eyeglass case, contact solution
• Medications (perhaps with prescriptions) — pack in carry-on
• Reading material for ride

Utilities & Miscellaneous

• Quarters for laundry
• Plastic bag for dirty laundry
• Needle nose pliers, screwdrivers, etc.
• Heavy tape to pack and to keep extension and phone cords out of the way.
• Key ring/chain/lanyard for room key.
• Maps to campus, addresses, phone numbers of school & A2 users
• Peikop Endropov schedule
• Paper towels
• Paper bag for garbage bag
• Plastic bag for coffee grounds, wet stuff
